Your dad has failed his driving test and is on your front porch crying. Mom is in the early stages of dementia living alone in her home, and she’s refusing to move to a safer situation. These are actual scenarios from the life of Catharine DeLong, hospice chaplain, music thanatologist, end-of-life educator and consultant. Catharine will guide us in exploring ways we can help those we love and even ourselves become more comfortable with the truth that our time on this earth is finite. Death tends to be perceived as a space of darkness and fear, when it could be a huge expansive miraculous event. We’ll discuss making good decisions, and having meaningful conversations now rather than later. It actually feels good to talk about what is real. Come find out.
